Snow Cone Birthday

My baby girl turns 6 pretty soon (sob!) and I’ve been trying to figure out how to make this birthday a fun and special one. In the past we’ve gone for a sweet theme, cotton candy and ice cream sammy’s, why break tradition, right?

So, my question for you party planner extraordinaire’s, how do I construct a whole party around snow cones? I’d love any help/advice!!

Hmmm, we never had a snow cone party but we do have a snow cone maker. I would make sure you have plenty of different flavors on hand and if you have the ability to make lots of "snow" a snow ball fight (aim at a target, I hate snowball fights!) would be fun. Have someone do face painting. We used to have carnival parties with individual stations (bean bag toss, water balloon toss, snow cone stand, pinata, etc...) My favorite birthday party tradition is the "candy buffet". Always a hit! Pretty self-explanatory, but also put brownies and cookie dough on the table.

Hey, Okay so here is what I would do if i were you. I feel I get your sense of style and you do things a little different then the typical birthday party decor. I think it would be so fun to make cupcakes look like snow cones and even the cake by dying coconut different colors and putting the little sample spoons (wooden would be cute) in the top so it looks like a snow cone. You could also do do styrofoam in a snow cone cup(triangle thing) and spray paint it so it looks like snow cone and use that around for decor. Personally I would stick with color themes. Rent out a snow cone machine from Orson Gygi, do the cake and cupcakes snow cone looking and then do the other stuff normal food by use food labels that are labeled snow cone flavors like (tigers blood) for the ketchup for the corn dogs (okay that name maybe a little gross for that but you get the idea) I also think using a twister board for a table cloth could be cute and just tape it up so you dont see twister. This way you just have all the dots. Here is an idea http://www.bridgeywidgey.com/2012/05/game-night-party.html
