Skinny Jeans with Leather Patches Tutorial – Celebrate the Boy

How awesome are Dana and Rae. I love having a whole month to celebrate sewing for boys. I have loved sewing for my little man. These skinny jeans with leather knee patches are really easy to make and you will die every time you see him wearing the pants.

Lets get started.

Start with your pair of regular jeans.

Unpick the bottom hem on both legs.

Cut along both the back of the seam, not on the seam, up the leg of the pant.  Stop about 2- 3 inches beneath the pocket.

Pin your leather patch on the knee area.  You will want to pin closer to the inside seam.

Sew patch.

Turn jeans right side out.  Mark your new stitch.

Sew your new seam.

Cut off the excess fabric.

Zigzag stitch along your new seam.

Roll your new hem.

Using your old stitches as a guide, stitch your new hem.

Turn them inside out and enjoy!
