Freshly Picked Loves February: Advent

February is coming up, folks. I know this means a lot of eye-rolling at couples and a lot of wishing for a fancy date, but I’m thinking we should get past the greeting cards and boxes of chocolates this year and focus more on love….all kinds. So get ready for a little red and pink and a lot of mush this month!

The Christmas book advent was so fun last year, I thought I’d start collecting enough to do a V-day advent as well. Here are some cute stories I have or want. Any good ones I’m missing?

>>1  Love You Forever Classic.

>>2  The Ballad of Valentine

>>3  I Love You Through And Through We read this one almost every night.

>>4  Fancy Nancy: Heart to Heart

>>5  I Like You This is one of my favorites. A great gift for anyone in your life, young or old.

>>6  Be My Valentine, Amelia Bedelia

>>7  Henry in Love

>>8  How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You?

>>9  The Giving Tree This one is just as sweet for adults as it is for kids.

>>10  Counting Kisses: A Kiss & Read Book

>>11  Me without You (like hair without do…ha!)

>>12  Day It Rained Hearts

I Love You Stinky Face by Lisa Mccourt. Such a cute mom loves child book with a sense of humor. One of family's favorites for sure. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0439634695
  3. Nikki :
Love this collection of books. I never really cared for Valentine's day until I had kids. It's been our tradition to give the kids a book, instead of a card, on Valentine's with a personal note on the inside cover. Maybe this year will have to be one of these cute lovey books!
  4. Jenn :
Old Bear and Little Cub by Olivier Dunrea I Love You Forever by Sam McBratney Now you've got 14! Yay!

I love all of those books :). Another one that my kiddos LOVE is I Love You, Little One, by Nancy Tafuri. I actually had to go and buy another one because our other one was so beat up and falling apart.
  7. Amy :
Love this idea! We did the Christmas book advent and I've gathered almost enough for a Halloween one but didn't think about Valentine's. One of my fav's is No Matter What by Debi Gliori.
  8. Holly :
I love Lilly's Chocolate Heart (http://www.amazon.com/Lillys-Chocolate-Heart-Kevin-Henkes/dp/0060560665/ref=sr_1_36?ie=UTF8&qid=1359870496&sr=8-36&keywords=kevin+henkes). Also Runaway Bunny is a classic. (http://www.amazon.com/Runaway-Bunny-Margaret-Wise-Brown/dp/0060775823/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1359870605&sr=1-1&keywords=runaway+bunny)
  9. Alexis :
Wherever You Are by Nancy Tillman is great. Her illustrations are gorgeous and her text has a fun cadence as you read: "I wanted you more than you ever will know, so I sent love to follow wherever you go."
  10. Carly :
It's Valentine's Day by Jack Perlutsky. Although I'm pretty sure it is out of print, it is simply the most adorable Valentine's Day book ever!
