With the weather as beautiful as it’s been this week, we decided to create an organic bird feeder with some things we had around the house. This is such a fun and simple activity that you can do with children of all ages. I mean, really, we’ve all been making them since preschool, right?
First, attach string to the pinecone by winding it around the top fronds until it’s secure. Tie a knot at the top to make a loop.
Next, spread peanut butter all over the the pinecone with a spoon or butter knife.
And finally, roll the peanut butter pinecone in the birdseed, covering the whole thing. You may need to sprinkle it on some parts to get all the nooks and crannies covered.
Hang on a tree branch and watch the birds come and enjoy!
