  1. Liesl :
    My weekend was spent with friends and we did enjoy lots of eating, which was yummy and fun! Loving that picture of San Fran...gorgeous and one of my favorite cities! I often just go to the main areas like Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 and around Union Square is fun too! Also, if you have never done Alcatraz that is something worth doing to do it! :) Have a lovely time!

    Liesl :)
  2. kelly :
    go to boulangerie patisserie in lower pacific heights. get some macaroons and an amandine. you won't be disappointed.
  3. Lindsay @ Aisle to Aloha :
    Did you take that photo?! It's gorgeous! Oh San Fran, so fun! Have a blast!
  4. with love, jennifer :
    The shopping at Union Square is a must! The H&M right there catty corner to Macy's is amazing! If you're a breakfast girl then the Cliffhouse is the place for ya! Their popovers are to die for! And of course, The Boudin for some amazing sourdough!
  5. with love, jennifer :
    Oh! and for some amazing views...take the ferry to Sausilito or Tiburon!
  6. noteify :
    The Ferry Building is a must!
  7. April :
    I've lived in San Francisco for just about 5 years and would recommend (over the union sq/fisherman's wharf tourism)...

    Sample a Mission burrito (La Taqueria, or Papalote are good options) and to take a walk down the shops on Valencia St while you're there. Stop by the amazing shop at Gravel and Gold! Or walk the 18th street stretch near dolorse park to visit Tartine, birite or the birite creamery.

    If you can find an Off the Grid, get some food truck food.

    You'd probably also love shopping in Hayes Vally — miette cakes are there as are a bunch of other fun window-shopping type things. Get a smitten ice cream or stop at the ritual roasters pop-up and sit at the little park and people-watch.

    Lastly, go to tail of the yak in berkeley if you can!
  8. April :
    Oh! Walking around the Palace of Fine Arts is always a trip too and I would second a stop at the Ferry Building.
  9. Eva / Sycamore Street Press :
    One of my all-time favorite shops is General Store in the Outer Sunset. There are a couple of other fun shops nearby (just ask Serena & Mason, the owners) and it's a short walk down to Ocean Beach from there, too. Also - you can never go wrong with the Kinokuniya bookshop in Japan Town. And I love searching through the marked down seconds at Heath Ceramics. Man, I really wanna go back to SF!

    {I hope you don't feel cheated - I posted these same tips over at Camille Styles today - she's visiting too!}

    First, if you’re here Sunday, you should ABSOLUTELY make the trip to Alameda for the flea market/antique fair. {as long as it’s not pouring}Wear comfortable shoes. The place is huge, and AMAZING! { http://alamedapointantiquesfaire.com/}

    If you’re into coffee, it’s great here. Blue Bottle is great, and so is Four Barrel {they have an awesome shop on Valencia street that is very industrial chic. Also, head to Tartine for brunch. There's a huge line, but it's worth it. {It moves pretty quickly, too.}

    I'd also recommend checking out the food cart scene here. That’s been my favorite, lately. There's an organization called Off the Grid {http://offthegridsf.com/} that hosts them. There's a smaller (less crowded) version near my apartment in Golden Gate Park on Thursday nights, and a big one in Fort Mason on Fridays.

    As for what to do? My all time favorite is just to walk around. This city has some amazing people watching and excellent window shopping, too!

    Also, have you seen Jordan's San Francisco Eats list from Oh Happy day? I'm a San Francisco native, born and raised, and she pretty much nailed it! {http://ohhappyday.com/2011/02/san-francisco-eats/}

    Victoria from SF Girl By Bay is also doing a series, neighborhood by neighborhood, and her take on the Mission is pretty much dead on.{ http://www.sfgirlbybay.com/2011/11/18/the-415-2/}

    I’ve been living here pretty much all my life, and I’m still in love with the place. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. (I’ll be out of town all weekend, but would happily share some more tips!)

    HAVE FUN! ♥
