This week, Annie and I took the kids on a very short, very cold leaf collecting adventure. The kids had a great time and we even rewarded them with hot chocolate and donuts. I’ve had an idea for w while to create a leaf color changing scape, so after the fun had wound down, I busted out my flower press. Hopefully this project will turn out how I have imagined it in my head, I’ll report back in a week or so!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Have you guys seen the blog, Small Fry? It’s only the cutest children’s lifestyle blog around! They have the most precious video series where they feature adorable children and that child’s  mother in their natural element. This week they featured adorable Ellie and her mom, it’s beautiful and you can check it out here. The video was the inspiration for this week’s fall activity. So, today armed with grocery sacks and paper and crayon my littles and I embraced the crisp fall weather to gather and document our fall foliage.

My 6 year old is obsessed with decorating for Halloween and this past Sunday, we spent the afternoon cooking up crafts. One of the decorations that we made was this skull votive with red glitter on the inside. It’s my new favorite Halloween decoration.

This week for Babble I posted a stop motion video for this glittery skull votive, check it out here!

What is your favorite Halloween decoration?

The second activity on our fall activity list is go to the corn maze. We went to a corn maze last night that catered to the younger crowd and it was really fun. The kids had a great time running through the maze kicking up dirt and we went out for soup and bread after.

mini caramel apples http://freshly-picked.com/mini-caramel-apples/ http://freshly-picked.com/mini-caramel-apples/#comments Fri, 05 Oct 2012 01:41:39 +0000 Susan http://freshly-picked.com/?p=6358 read more]]>

Late last night, I got together with some friends to make mini caramel apples. They turned out so cute and are so easy to make! If you’ve ever had an unsuccessful caramel apple experience – I’ve had many, then you should give these a try.

The trick is the melon baller. Just core out some of the apple and then you have little manageable pieces to work with.

Put a stick in the little piece of apple and then dip and sprinkle until you’re heart is content.

My favorite were these apple pie version. Just like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, except with none of the guilt.

Abby posted a picture on Instagram of her fall activity list and the picture got me super inspired to have a list of activities to do with my children this fall. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be sharing what is on our fall activity list.
